Wayback Wednesday: The Beach Boys
On February 20, 1964, The Beach Boys recorded what became one of Brian Wilson’s best loved songs…Don’t Worry Baby. He wrote it along with Roger Christian, and sang the falsetto lead. The song was first released on their 1964 album Shut Down Volume 2. Then on May 11th, Don’t Worry Baby was released as a single….but as the flip side to I Get Around, which became the Beach Boys’ first #1 song. Talk about getting your money’s worth on a 45!
Here’s a rather grainy video of the boys doing this song, without much choreography, on TV. Hope it brings a little touch of summer to your February!
