Wayback Wednesday: Art Garfunkel
This week, it’s Birthday #79 for Art Garfunkel. Born November 5, 1941, he of course famously teamed up with Paul Simon, for some great music in the 1960’s. They first broke up right after their greatest success, the Bridge Over Troubled Water album in 1970, but despite a contentious relationship over the years, they’ve reunited and performed on tours several times. S & G went into the Rock N’ Roll Hall Of Fame in 1990.
As a solo artist, Garfunkel has had considerable success. He’s done his own versions of songs from his youth in the 50’s and early 60’s, including “I Only Have Eyes For You”, The Tymes “So Much in Love”, and this great Skyliners song, “Since I Don’t Have You.” Enjoy!
