Who Should the Knicks Target as the Trade Deadline Eventually Approaches
The New York Knicks traded some depth away this off-season and it’s time for them to try and get some back. Will the Knicks hurry to make a move or will they wait until February?
The first position that comes to mind is the center position. The Knicks need depth in the front court and someone who is reliable enough to stay healthy behind Karl Anthony Towns. Players like Drew Eubanks and Nick Richards can certainly make the Knicks much deeper at the position even though it isn’t a flashy move.
Another name that you will hear pop up in trade discussions is Isiah Stewart of the Detroit Pistons. This could be the best target for the Knicks as he plays with a lot of fire and will give you his all every minute he is on the floor. A trade with the Pistons wouldn’t be complicated either especially because they have their big man of the future in Jalen Duren.
If the Knicks can find a way to make the money work, looking into Chicago Bulls players like Nikola Vucevic and Lonzo Ball could be very intriguing options as well.
Vucevic will help in the paint as well as stretch the floor, while Ball can certainly help facilitate the offense while Brunson is on the bench.
The Knicks don’t have much to offer, so seeing how they navigate improving their team at the deadline will be very interesting.
