Christian Pulisic is the latest American hero.

Pulisic knocked home the game-winning goal in the 36th minute that sent US Soccer to the Round of 16 in the FIFA World Cup. The victory marks the third consecutive World Cup that the United States has advanced to the Round of 16, having done so in 2014 and 2010.

Pulisic hit the game-winning shot when he took a header and bounced the ball off his toe into the goal. While doing so, he collided with Iran's goalie Alireza Beiranvand. After getting some treatment on the sideline, Pulisic would return, only to leave again and would not return.

Still, the USA found a way to hold on. They will face the Netherlands on Saturday in the Round of 16. England which beat Wales 3-0, also advanced to the Round of 16.
