Sully Sullenberger Honors ‘Miracle On The Hudson’ 12 Years Later
Today marks 12 years since US Airways Flight 1549 was forced to make an emergency landing on the Hudson River.
On January 15, 2009, Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger saved the lives of 155 people on board his plane after a bird strike disabled the engines.
“It’s hard to believe that this Friday, January 15, will mark the 12 year anniversary of #Flight1549,” Captain Sully shared to Instagram. “It was a day when unforeseen crisis impacted the lives of many and forced passengers, crew members and first responders to overcome the unknown by doing one thing: working together.”
Sullenberger has since released 2 books, Making A Difference: Stories of Vision and Courage from America’s Leaders and Sully: My Search for What Really Matters.
Sully the movie was released in 2016 telling the real-life story of the “Miracle On The Hudson.” It starred Tom Hanks and was directed by Clint Eastwood.
