The Doo Wop Project Hearkens Back to Classic Sounds Like Frankie Valli, Drifters, Del Vikings
Our professor of Doo Wop, Alan David Stein, had a chance to it down with Dominic Nolfi, one of the members of the group prior to their tour date in NJ, at UCPAC in Rahway NJ on Friday, May 10th at 8 pm.
You might recognize Dominic because he has had parts as an original cast member of Jersey Boys, Dominic Nolfi covered three of the Four Seasons before being promoted to the leading role of bad boy Tommy DeVito.
What Is The Doo Wop Project?
The Doo Wop Project begins at the beginning, tracing the start of group singing developed by inner-city African Americans performing tight harmonies on a street corner to the biggest hits on the radio today. Audiences will take you on a journey from foundational tunes of groups like the Crests, Belmont’s and Flamingos, to the sounds of Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, and The Four Seasons, plus a whole lot more.
Tickets are still available for the UCPAC concert on Friday, May 10th all you need to do is click right here!
