Governor Murphy Declares August 30-September 5 New Jersey Football Week
Governor Phil Murphy has declared August 30th through September 5th as “New Jersey Football Week.”
“152 years after college football began right here at Rutgers University, I’m proud to declare August 30th- September 5th as New Jersey Football Week. Wishing good luck to Rutgers Football and Coach Greg Shiano, and to our high school players as they Rumble on the Raritan,” Murphy shared to Facebook.
Rutgers University will play against Temple University on Thursday (September 2) for the 2021 college football season opener.
According to the proclamation, Rutgers University will also host a total of 12 New Jersey high school football games at SHI Stadium throughout September 3, 4, and 5.
