Alan Lieber,

Mortality rates have decreased by 35%, infection rates have decreased by 30%, and in 2011 the state of New Jersey reported that Overlook had the lowest readmission rates for Congestive Heart Failure in New Jersey. Overlook Medical Center participated in the CMS gainsharing demonstration project and its average cost per case has remained flat for the last 4 years.
Gina Maguire, RN
Registered Nurse in Oncology
Gina has been a nurse for 11 years, all in oncology treating patients with cancer. Recently, Overlook Medical Center made a transition to electronic medical records, which is a huge investment by Atlantic Health System to deliver safer, more efficient and better care for its patients. Gina was trained to be a “Super User” during this transition, teaching nurses and docs how to use the new software in real time at the bedside
Venessa Polito, RN
Registered Nurse in Pediatrics
Venessa is a staff nurse in Pediatrics, and has worked at Overlook for five years. Before she became a nurse, she was high school social studies teacher. She decided to become a nurse after being exposed to the nurses who cared for her sister while she was getting treated for a brain tumor. After her sister passed away, she thought it was time to move toward a change in her life. After nursing school, she was thrilled to find a position in Pediatrics here at Overlook…the same hospital where her sister got treated. She thinks it was meant to be.
