Phil Collins Fans Sue Over Bad Seats
Most of us have had poor seats for concerts in the past, but few of us have filed suit. However, this New Zealand couple might have a case over their seats at a recent Phil Collins show.
Karryn and Jason Fletcher tell Stuff they bought four tickets for Collins’ February 4 show in Christchurch. The premium tickets were $299 each. Much to the couple’s disappointment, their view was significantly obstructed. They have now filed a lawsuit against promoter TEG Dainty over “false advertising” and are seeking a refund.
Karryn said, “We were three rows from the front and to the furthest right-hand side of the stage and could not see the full stage at all. No drummers, guitarist or vocal singers and very nearly Phil Collins himself. The video screens were so high we couldn’t keep looking up at them because it became painful. We feel completely ripped off.”
At the time of publishing, TEG Dainty has yet to comment on the suit.
If you pay that kind of money, you should be able to see the full stage. It will certainly be interesting if the Fletchers do get a refund against all odds or if TEG Dainty doesn’t care anymore since this show has passed.
