Details Announced For Gregg Allman’s Laid Back Festival
Gregg Allman‘s Laid Back Festival will continue even in the wake of his May 27 death.
There will actually be three shows, in fact — on Sept. 21 in Holmdel, N.J., Sept. 23 in Hartford, Conn. and Sept. 24 in Wantagh, N.Y. — with Jackson Browne, Steve Winwood, the J. Geils Band’s Peter Wolf, Little Steven & the Disciples of Soul and the Allman Brothers Band offshoot Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band performing in tribute to Allman. Garland Jeffreys and Scott Sharrad & the Brickyard Band will join the lineup for the final show.
The festival, which mixes music and food, started in 2015 and returned the following year even bigger. A pre-sale is underway, and general public tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. ET on Friday (June 16).
Allman died from liver cancer at the age of 69.
