Bruce Springsteen made a surprise appearance last night (March 10) at John Mellencamp's show in Newark, N.J. where The Boss joined Mellencamp on his hit "Pink Houses."
The fans at the NJ Arts Center erupted when Springsteen walked onto the stage and hugged Mellencamp. Per Setlist.fm, this special moment happened during the final song on the setlist before the encore. The emotional performance can be viewed below.
This is the second time Springsteen has made a surprise appearance during a Mellencamp set in a handful of months. In November 2023, the New Jersey icon joined Indiana's favorite son during the annual Stand Up For Heroes benefit. Springsteen and Mellencamp performed "Wasted Days," their 2021 duet. It marked the first time the singer-songwriters performed the song live together.
Springsteen, of course, is days away from returning to the road. After having to postpone tour dates with the E Street Band due to recovering from peptic ulcer disease, The Boss will take to the stage at the Footprint Center in Phoenix on March 19. A full list of tour dates is below.
