VIDEO: Miley Cyrus Covers the Beatles ‘Help’ in Empty Rose Bowl
Miley Cyrus took part in Global Citizen’s “Global Goal: Unite for Our Future” livestream event over the weekend where she performed a cover of the Beatles’ “Help!” in an empty Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, Calif.
The performance was prefaced with text reading, “Dedicated to those who are tirelessly working on testing, treatment and vaccines so all of us can come together in place like this empty stadium again…”
Cyrus performed on a circle platform that acted as the dot in an exclamation point that punctuated the word “Help” that was located in the middle of the field of the Rose Bowl.
Cyrus has a history of covering classic rock artists. In April, she was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live where she covered Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here.” Cyrus covered two other classic rock songs on SNL: In 2015, she covered Paul Simon’s “50 Ways To Leave Your Lover” on the show’s 40th anniversary special, and in 2018, Cyrus covered John Lennon’s “Happy XMas (War Is Over)” with Mark Ronson and Sean Lennon.
