The Undertaker Names His Favorite Bands to Listen to While Working Out
The Undertaker for the past number of years has had a big match at WrestleMania. So, when The Phenom heads back into the gym to get into match shape, what does he listen to?
The WWE icon said in an interview with Loudwire, “Obviously, it depends on the day, but I think a mainstay is always Metallica. There’s certain days like sparring days, hard grinding days when I love to put in Rage Against the Machine.”
Taker adds, “…My trainer has different music for different parts of my workouts. There’s those certain days when I might be draggin’ and not feeling it completely, he’d put in Johnny Cash, The Man Comes Around.’ I’m really eclectic when it comes to music, but I would say Rage and Metallica were probably my mainstays. Ozzy [Osbourne]’s there, Guns N’ Roses… all that stuff with a pulse to get my mind off the grind and into the music.”
The Deadman also counts Elvis Presley, Ted Nugent, Kansas and Boston among some of his favorite rock artists.
The Undertaker famously channeled his “American Bad Ass” persona when he rode up on his motorcycle during his entrance for his Boneyard Match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36 earlier this year. The moment was soundtracked by Metallica’s “Now That We’re Dead,” but who is the biggest metalhead in wrestling?
“I’m gonna go with…which a lot of people probably don’t get…but I’m gonna go with Triple H,” said Undertaker. “Especially now that he’s Mr. Corporate and all that, you kind of lose that, but he’s a big metalhead.”
Sure, Triple H is currently the Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development for WWE, but when you can say you were pals with the late Lemmy Kilmister, you’re a pretty big metalhead.
