John Lennon Photos To Be Displayed In Liverpool
A new set of previously unseen John Lennon photos will be going on display next month in the Beatles‘ hometown of Liverpool before going up for auction next year.
The 26 images, which date back to 1970, were found as negatives in the anonymous owner’s junk drawer, presumed to have no worth.
They portray Lennon in the midst of the Beatles’ breakup and as he was releasing his single “Instant Karma.” The images have been turned into photos that will go on display at The Beatles Story museum in Liverpool during November, with Julien’s Auctions planning to put them on the block sometime next year.
The photos are expected to fetch more than $15,000. Other findings announced at the annual Memorabilia Day in Liverpool include a postcard signed by Lennon and a signed program from the Beatles’ 1963 Christmas show in Bradford, England, both of which will also be displayed and then auctioned.
