The Festival is open 3 to 8 p.m. Fridays and noon to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays until Dec. 22.

The decorations in downtown Denville can be visited and observed at any time throughout the month of December.

At Maplewood’s Ricalton Square, you can immerse yourself in the Charles Dickens classic, “A Christmas Carol,” in the Dickents village. Every Saturday starting December 7, the square comes alive with scenes straight from the pages of the novel.

Over in Ridgewood, fresh wreaths and a towering Christmas tree set the mood downtown. The popular Downtown for the Holidays celebration happens December 6, with people coming together for the big tree lighting.

The Dickens Village will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. on the first three Saturdays in December. A list of activities offered can be found here

Though they’re all about spreading holiday cheer, each town adds its special touch. Morristown has artists creating ice sculptures. Denville focuses on fun for young families. Maplewood brings stories to life, while Ridgewood keeps things classically festive.

Everyone’s welcome to these free events throughout December. Times vary depending on where you go, and while most wrap up before Christmas Day, each town runs on its own calendar.
