Paul McCartney Spotted Dancing at London Taylor Swift Show
Paul McCartney was one of many celebrities to catch Taylor Swift and “The Eras Tour” during the pop superstar’s three-night stand at London’s Wembley Stadium over the weekend.
In addition to Sir Paul, Rolling Stone reports that Tom Cruise, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Peter Gabriel, Greta Gerwig, Prince William and his children — Prince George and Princess Charlotte — also attended Swift’s London shows.
However, McCartney appeared to be far more visible to the public than other celebs in attendance. In fact, Macca was filmed dancing with Swifties on the main floor. One X user wrote, “I find it so endearing that Paul McCartney is truly the most legendary person to attend eras tour and also the only one that openly went into the crowd to vibe with them.”
On top of that, McCartney also took part in the making and exchanging of friendship bracelets, which has been a hallmark of The Eras Tour. One of the lucky recipients of a Sir Paul bracelet shared a photo of it on X, with another user commenting, “We live in a universe where PAUL MCCARTNEY is trading friendship bracelets with swifties.”
Back in November 2020, McCartney and Swift took part in the Rolling Stone feature “Musicians on Musicians.” During their chat together, McCartney and Swift talked about how they both recorded albums during the coronavirus pandemic. Sir Paul made McCartney III, while Swift made Folklore.
Swift praised McCartney III and told the music icon, “I listened to your new record, and I loved a lot of things about it, but it really did feel like kind of a flex to write, produce, and play every instrument on every track. To me, that’s like flexing a muscle and saying, ‘I can do all this on my own if I have to.'”
McCartney was modest about Swift’s compliment and said he “just picked up some of these instruments over the years.”
Paul McCartney and Taylor Swift Have Another Thing in Common
Besides their love of songwriting and performing, McCartney and Swift have another thing in common: They’re both billionaires.
In May, the Sunday Times' annual Rich List calculated the wealth of Sir Paul and his wife, Nancy Shevell, at 1 billion pounds, which is the equivalent of $1.27 billion USD. The couple’s net worth is an increase of 50 million pounds from the outlet’s 2023 list.
Meanwhile, Swift made the Forbes billionaires list in April. The outlet noted, “In a rare feat, Swift is the first musician to reach the milestone solely from songwriting and performing. Her fortune doesn’t largely derive from profitable side hustles (think: beauty brands, fashion lines, alcohol investments, etc.), which have been typical avenues for entertainers to become billionaires in recent years.”
