Dakota Johnson Sleeps 14 Hours a Day
Dakota Johnson has gone viral for stating how many hours she sleeps daily. In a new interview with the Wall Street Journal this week, the Madame Web star admitted that she often sleeps for more than half a day at a time! The 34-year-old actress said that for 14 hours of the day, she’s sleeping. Johnson, the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, stated that she isn’t “functional” if she gets less than 10 hours of sleep. Easily, she says she can go 14 hours. Self-care on that level is something that seems natural to the Texas native. Elsewhere in the interview, the Fifty Shades of Grey alum says she will get into a bathtub “at any moment, any time of the day.” When having mid-day thoughts like, “‘Oh God, what is this world?’ I’ll get in the bathtub,” she says to ground herself. She also meditates twice a day.
If she isn’t working, Johnson doesn’t have a regular wake-up time. Depending on what’s going on in her life, she will sleep as long as she can. “Sleep is my number one priority in life,” she declares. Dakota’s candid confession has divided people, with many taking to social media to share their reactions to the long periods she spends unconscious. There were many tired adults who were in awe of the fact that she is so well-rested and admitted to envying her snoozing ability. In response to the interview on X (formerly Twitter), one person wrote: “need to be her so bad.” Another said: “dakota johnson is so real for this.” One fan admitted, “I wish I could say the same because damn I’m tired.”

Others who don’t have the time or luxury to sleep for that long found Dakota’s comments to be unrealistic. One person sarcastically said: “Obviously has no reason or important responsibilities to be awake longer or value her relationships enough to share her life with them. She would rather sleep her life away. Good for her.” Another slammed her for being able to sleep all day long if they had “money like hers, a cook, maid, & gardener. Must be nice to get 6hrs of sleep. I work 3 jobs just to get a good paycheck. I’m exhausted. I’m happy she gets to rest 15hrs a day.” Another had a simple slam: “Also known as a ‘nepo nap.'” Per the Mayo Clinic, it is recommended that adults get seven or more hours of sleep each night. In addition to age, factors like sleep quality, previous sleep deprivation, pregnancy, and aging can affect how many hours of sleep you need.
