THROWBACK: Don Henley Joins Stevie Nicks at 2019 Rock Hall Induction
Don Henley celebrates his birthday today (July 22.) It’s the perfect time to look back on his surprise appearance at the 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Henley joined Stevie Nicks on stage for a performance of their duet “Leather and Lace.” The song was a top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and is from Nicks’ 1981 debut solo album Bella Donna. Nicks was being inducted that evening for her solo work, making her the first woman to be a double inductee in the Rock Hall.
Henley’s walk onto the stage was framed perfectly by the HBO camera crew. The crowd’s reaction was priceless, as was the chemistry Henley and Nicks still have on stage all these years later.
