New Christmas Movies Coming To Streaming Services
Christmas has inspired tons of great movies: It’s A Wonderful Life, Miracle On 34th Street, The Preacher’s Wife, Scrooged and A Muppet Christmas Carol are just a few of them. It’s always fun to revisit the classics. But there are also some new entries coming to streaming services this year. Here are some of the highlights.
Angela’s Christmas Wish on Netflix is the sequel to last year’s Angela’s Christmas. Both are appropriate for all ages. Both films are set in Limerick, Ireland at the turn of the 20th century and have sweet, family based stories.
The Christmas Chronicles 2 on Netflix stars real-life couple Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn. The sequel to 2018’s Christmas Chronicles, but in the original, Hawn just made a cameo. Here, she’s a co-star.
This documentary, available on demand, but may not be appropriate for children, particularly if they still believe. The doc is about the 100-year-old “Operation Santa” Program of the United States Postal Service. Each year, hundreds of thousands of letters to Santa arrive at Post Offices around the country. Through “Operation Santa,” the United States Postal Service makes it possible for the public to safely adopt these letters and make children’s dreams come true. The film focuses on select “Operation Santa” Centers: some in metropolitan areas like the massive operation in New York City and others in small towns where the Post Office is the heart of the community.
Dolly Parton’s Christmas On The Square on Netflix is a new take on A Christmas Carol featuring Dolly Parton as the angel. It’s a musical with new songs co-written by Parton.
Happiest Season on Hulu, was directed by Clea DuVall (who also is in the cast) and features Kristen Davis and Kristen Stewart along with Mackenzie Davis, Alison Brie, Aubrey Plaza, Daniel Levy, Mary Holland, Victor Garber and Mary Steenburgen in a story about a woman who wants to propose to her girlfriend in front of her gf’s family.
Bugs Bunny’s 24-Carrot Holliday Special on HBO Max will have your favorite Looney Tunes characters, including an epic snowball fight between Bugs and Elmer Fudd.
