There’s Something You NEVER Noticed About Alvin And The Chipmunks
If you’re an 80’s kid, you undoubtedly spent your early years watching Alvin and the Chipmunks. During those carefree days, we bet you never noticed something rather odd about your favorite show.
The Twitterverse is abuzz this morning regarding a major flaw in the title of your childhood show. What? A flaw? How come you never noticed this before?
Well, let’s just blame it on your youthful mind and being so consumed with the show that you never even questioned the title.
Let’s break this apart for a moment, shall we?
Let’s review the title again: Alvin and the Chipmunks, hmmm. The story is about three chipmunks who are all brothers. Alvin is the oldest and also the most mischievous.
Then there’s the middle child, Simon, who is the smartest of the three chipmunks.
Lastly, there’s Theodore, the youngest chipmunk who’s youthfully innocent and adorable.
But wait, they ARE all chipmunks.
So why does the title say Alvin and the Chipmunks? As if, Alvin is something other than a chipmunk!
If we compare Alvin and the Chipmunks to another show from the 80’s, it’s the equivalent of saying Rosanne and the Humans. Rosanne is also a human, so why separate the two?
It just goes against everything we have ever been taught in English Literature.
Way to ruin our childhood, Twitterverse!
But wait, another fan debunked this claim, saying it’s a music thing and several bands name their group in this format. By that standard, Alvin would be the frontman of the group!
