Bobby Rydell has passed away at the age of 79.
The music legend and Philadelphia native was well-known for his hits “Wildwood Days,” “Wild One,” “Volare,” among many others. He was a teen idol for so many in the early 1960s while also appearing in the movie Bye Bye Birdie.
CBS Philly confirmed the news of Rydell’s death today (April 5). Rydell would have turned 80 later this month on April 26.
He is survived by his wife Linda Hoffman, daughter Jennifer Ridarelli, son Robert Ridarelli, and his five grandchildren.
