LONDON, ENGLAND - JULY 14: Novak Djokovic of Serbia and Roger Federer of Switzerland pose for a photo with their trophies after the Men's Singles final during Day thirteen of The Championships - Wimbledon 2019 at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on July 14, 2019 in London, England.

Novak Djokovic defeated Roger Federer in a wild men’s singles final at Wimbledon.

Per the Associated Press, the final lasted nearly five hours and went to a fifth-set tiebreaker in order to determine an official winner.

This marks Djokovic’s second consecutive Wimbledon title and fifth overall.

Both Djokovic and Federer made mention of the marathon match after the final with Djokovic saying, “Unfortunately in these kinds of matches, one of the players has to lose. It’s quite unreal.” Federer said, “It was a great match. It was long. It had everything. I had my chances. So did he. I thought we played some great tennis. In a way, I’m very happy with my performance, as well. But Novak, it’s great. Congratulations, man. That was crazy. Well done.”
