On Thanksgiving 1976, at Bill Graham’s Winterland, Americana Rock group The Band presented their final concert with songwriter & lead guitarist, Robbie Robertson, who passed away in August 2023.
On Friday, November 10, 2023 you are invited to relive one of the most famous concerts of all time featuring an ensemble of local musicians as it is recreated LIVE from Porta Montclair to raise funds for Toni’s Kitchen, a 501c3 non-profit organization to help those in need. ALL TICKET SALES GO DIRECTLY TO TONI’S KITCHEN.
This event is not only dedicated to the memory of Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Robbie Robertson as a community fundraiser, it will also feature a Waltz Contest with prizes for best dancing, best costumes, etc.
Contest rules are as follows:
- Couples must dress in formal suits, ties, & dress
- Entries are limited to 5 couples (cut-off will be announced on the Facebook Event page: https://fb.me/e/3VzCXUpqg )
- There is a $10 fee to enter
- Entries must register by contacting ROSTAFA via email (lastwaltzshow@gmail.com) no later than Wednesday, November 8th at 8PM
- The Waltz song will be “Waltz of the Flowers”
- A panel of judges will determine winners by consistent coordination, originality, and trust in your partner
