ADVOCATING FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
The New Jersey Highlands Coalition and Hackensack Riverkeeper are teaming up to take environmental awareness to new heights on May 31, 2025. From our mountains to our marshes, from the Delaware to the Hudson, our organizations work tirelessly to protect and preserve clean, healthy water for more than 7 million residents across northern and central New Jersey. We are partnering to host Over The Edge to promote ecological stewardship, a sustainable future, and fearless environmental leadership. Together we will celebrate conservation victories and raise awareness about the most pressing challenges that threaten New Jersey’s vital water resources.

ABOUT NEW JERSEY HIGHLANDS COALITION AND HACKENSACK RIVERKEEPER
The New Jersey Highlands Coalition is dedicated to preserving and protecting the natural and cultural resources of the NJ Highlands, for current and future generations. The Coalition represents the voices, visions, and interests of more than 100 member organizations committed to clean water, open space, recreation, and environmental justice. With help from dozens of community-based organizations, the Coalition advocates for clean water and sustainable development across the 88 municipalities that constitute the New Jersey Highlands. 6.2 million New Jerseyans depend on Highlands’ water for some or all of their drinking water.

Hackensack Riverkeeper defends the Public Trust resources of the Hackensack River watershed through environmental action, advocacy, education and litigation. As a citizen steward for the watershed, Hackensack Riverkeeper promotes responsible, sustainable development and works to remediate centuries of pollution and associated environmental damage. On behalf of the people and wildlife that depend on the Hackensack River, we work to protect, preserve and restore the fish and wildlife habitats that exist within the watershed.
