American Dream Mall Plans Month-Long Lunar New Year Celebration for 2025
A huge celebration of the Lunar New Year will take over American Dream Mall as it rings in the Year of the Snake in early 2025. “Lunar New Year is a special time when families and friends unite to celebrate new beginnings and honor cherished cultural traditions,” said Laura Deswart to the Paramus Post.
Hundreds of performers will hit the stage for the Youth Spring Festival Gala on Jan. 26. Adding to the atmosphere, the mall’s giant Observation Wheel will glow red throughout the celebration.
Lucky guests can grab prizes hidden in red envelopes. The first 250 people showing up on Jan. 25 and 26 will get special gifts at Guest Services in Court A. One lucky winner will take home a $500 shopping spree. This festival celebrates snake symbolism while sharing Asian traditions through food and entertainment. The custom of giving red envelopes stands for good luck and new beginnings in the coming year.
The main event, a five-hour Lunar New Year Spectacular on Feb. 1, will pack the mall with colorful lion dances, martial arts shows, and music performances. The evening before features a cultural gala filled with traditional acts.
The RNNL Dance Showcase brings cool moves on Jan. 12, mixing street dance with pop and jazz styles. Local performers take the spotlight on Jan. 25 during a combined student-teacher piano show. From Jan. 24 to Feb. 12, an international photo display catches attention with amazing shots. Visitors can explore the Golden Blessings Market on Feb. 2. Then, the Sunflower Lantern Festival Gala brightens up Feb. 8. A trendy Walk of Legend Fashion Show wraps up the events on Feb. 16. Young talents will show off their abilities through February in the US Starlight Youth Competition.
Events will happen across spots like The Dream Stage and The Avenue. Special deals and offers run through participating stores and restaurants during the celebration.
