Rock Hall of Famer Marky Ramone To Host $40 Charity Event for Disability Services
Rock icon Marky Ramone is putting together a special charity auction on Jan. 17, 2025, in Paramus, New Jersey. The three-hour event starts at 7 p.m. at the New Concepts for Living building. The fundraiser supports New Concepts for Living (NCFL), an organization helping adults with developmental disabilities. Ramone got involved after his manager Harvey Leeds’ daughter received support from NCFL while dealing with Rett syndrome.
Attendees will see Ramone perform live on drums and participate in a Q&A session. The evening includes rare videos and photos from his personal collection, offering fans an inside look at rock history. The auction boasts some amazing items. Fans can bid on autographed drumsticks, and original artwork, or even win a one-on-one drum lesson at Ramone’s NYC studio. Tickets are $40.
Founded in 1981 by parents of children with developmental needs, NCFL has flourished. Today they operate 18 homes throughout northern New Jersey, with their main facility, an 81,500-square-foot building, located in Paramus. The staff provides round-the-clock behavioral support and nursing care. Their services range from everyday assistance to specialized medical care, tailored to each individual’s needs.
“My family is so grateful to have been connected with NCFL from its inception until the present. In the late 1970s, my grandmother was involved with a group of other concerned parents who were looking for supportive housing,” said the Carney and Burke Family to NCFL.
“Moving my daughter from her previous agency and home into NCFL’s Haledon home was the best thing I ever did. Jessica had become inactive, uncooperative and very unhappy. She had gained so much weight that she could barely walk. I began to believe…” said Jocelyn Manzueta to NCFL.
This event aims to shine a light on disability care needs in New Jersey. NCFL has become a leading provider for adults needing developmental support.
