Walking Tour of America’s First National Park

This Saturday, as a part of continuing summer tour series by the county tourism bureau, will be the first historical park tour in Morristown on Saturday June 13th. The tour will run from 10 A.M until 11:30 A.M, which begins in the foyer of Washington’s Headquarters Museum. It will include a tour of the buildings and grounds created and restored by the Civilian Conservation Corps during America’s Great Depression, plus a viewing of the actual architectural drawings form the museum archives.
In 1933, America’s first National Historical Park was built at Morristown to preserve and interpret the two winter encampments by Gen. George Washington and the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War against Great Britain. On Saturday, a walking tour in Morristown offered by the Morris Country Tourism Bureau will take a fascination look at the effort, including some unique insights into the construction effort.
