Rock ‘N Roll Doo Wop Spectacular

If you love Oldies, then you are in for a real treat on Saturday Oct 14th at the State Theatre in downtown New Brunswick as they present the Rock ‘N Roll Doo Wop Spectacular.

Alan David Stein, host of the WMTR-AM 1250 AM morning show, had a chance to sit down with some of these great acts in advance of the concert so you can hear a preview of what the concert will be like.

Alan will be co-hosting the Spectacular on that evening, so if you know Alan, many a story will be told .

The legendary Chubby Checker will headline the night. Chubby Checker is the king of the Rock & Roll dance craze from the 60’s, and returns to State Theater. Checker’s songs include, “The Twist,” “Let’s Twist Again,” “Limbo Rock,” “Pony Time,” and “Slow Twisting” which were the big dance crazes for all the kats and kittens in the early 60’s. So get ready to twist the night away with this musical legend.

The Duprees will also be appearing. They got their start singing a cappella on the street in Jersey City in the early 60’s. They of course, are most known for the chart popping hits  “You Belong to Me,” “Have You Heard,” “Take Me As I Am,” and “My Own True Love.”

The Doo Wop Project will also be on the spectacular playlist , are a group of talented singers who will cover the great Do-Wop Classics in their own unique style.
