Warinanco Park, St. Georges Avenue, ElizabethOn Saturday, May 4, 2013 the Elizabeth New Jersey Firemen’s Federal Credit Union will once again sponsor the Playball for Miracles Charity Softball Tournament to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the families of firefighters and police officers who have children with special needs at Warinanco Park in Elizabeth.
This 3 division softball tournament is open to Men’s and Co-Ed Softball Teams.
Playball for Miracles was created in 2005 after an Elizabeth Firefighter’s son was diagnosed with a bleeding disorder so rare that it still has no name. The organization was created as a way to raise awareness of his disease and raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. All proceeds from the day’s events are donated directly to the hospitals specializing in caring for kids with illnesses, birth defects, injuries, etc. The money from our event goes to PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson in New Brunswick and Children’s Specialized Hospital in Mountainside.
