Play Ball For Miracles

On Saturday May 5^th, men, women, and co-ed softball teams from throughout New Jersey will gather at Warinanco Park in Elizabeth to take part in the 8^th Annual Play Ball for Miracles Softball Tournament to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Started in 2005, Play Ball for Miracles initially supported the family and son of an Elizabeth Firefighter who was diagnosed with a rare bleeding disorder. Since 2005, the event has continued to grow and raise awareness for the Children’s Miracle Network as well as help many firefighter families affected by a child’s medical condition. Play Ball for Miracles has silently presented checks ranging from $700 to $2500 to firefighters who need a little extra help caring for their children with medical conditions.

The Play Ball for Miracles tournament has enjoyed huge successes over the years. It has grown from a 6 team, one division tournament, into a tournament containing up to 40 teams in 3 divisions. Together with sponsors, they have raised over 70k for Children’s Miracle Network, and over 10k for NJFMBA families. Play Ball for Miracles has also partnered with the Somerset Patriots to create Miracle Night to help support the event.
