The Orange County Transportation Festival takes place on Sunday, August 31, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The festival will feature visiting classic cars, fire trucks, and construction equipment, as well as some other surprise guest vehicles. Presentations and guided tours of historic railroad equipment will be supplemented by live demonstrations of the historic turntable and locomotives. Kids can partake in a scavenger hunt through the exhibits to learn about railroading, and kids and adults alike can enjoy a barbecue lunch featuring the Erie Lackawanna Railroad’s original 1960s barbecue sauce recipe.
With on-site parking limited, visitors to the Orange County Transportation Festival are encouraged to take advantage of Metro-North’s/NJ Transit’s commuter rail service, as the Port Jervis train station is conveniently located just 650 feet from the event entrance. Organizations, clubs, and individuals from across Orange County and neighboring areas are also invited to participate. More details, including vendor and visiting display registration, can be found at erieturntable.org/festival.
