Market Street Mission Rebuild

Join the Cool Kids at the Market Street Mission, 25 George Street in Morristown on Saturday, November 5th.  College Hunks Hauling Junk, Habitat for Humanity, The Shauger Group, Liquid Church and hundreds of volunteers will join together to rebuild this transition home, the director’s home and a new community urban garden. Four New Jersey Organizations and Businesses Join Forces to Rebuild Morristown Market Street Mission After Hurricane Irene Destruction
 
Hurricane Irene left a path of destruction across New Jersey and four NJ-based businesses have come together to start rebuilding.  The first stop?  Market Street Mission in Morristown.
 
As College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving, comprised of NJ college students, worked around the clock helping those impacted by Hurricane Irene with clean up, owner’s Stephen and Nick knew more needed to be done and realized a collaborative effort would have the most impact on the community.  Soon, the Hurricane Irene Revitalization Project was born and the following organizations and business have come together to support this mission:
 
•        Habitat for Humanity (Morris) – providing labor, materials and leadership inside the home
•        Shauger Group – renewing the urban garden and landscaping
•        Liquid Church – will bring hundreds of volunteers, financial support and overall organization
•        College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving – will assist in design, moving, labor and general support
 
After Liquid Church conducted a search for a family to help through their “Reverse Offering” program Market Street Mission has been selected to receive a dream home on Saturday, November 5th, 2011.  In addition, an urban garden will be built to help Market Street Mission’s dream to make the community beautiful and provide low cost fruits and vegetables to area residents.  
 
Market Street Mission offers services and assistance to the homeless, helpless and hopeless in Northern New Jersey, including a transition home for men recovering from drug and alcohol addiction that was flooded by Hurricane Irene, along with the director’s family home.
