Join the Cool Kids for a car show with a great cause at Applebee’s, 186 Passaic Street in Garfield!

In December of 2010, the City of Garfield Police Department, Fire Department and Volunteer Ambulance Corps suffered a great loss in the untimely death of a dedicated friend and colleague, Retired Detective Kenneth Adamo. Kenny was a restless inspiration to many as a police officer, Fire Dept. Captain, Emergency Medical Technician, Arson Squad Investigator, coach, but so much more as a devoted friend, and loving husband and father.  As family and friends mourned the loss of this great man, an inspired group formed dedicated to keeping his spirited legacy alive by developing the 121 Foundation. The 121 Memorial Scholarship Foundation (honoring retired detective shield #121) was established to provide scholarships to families of emergency service personnel as well as students pursuing a career in law enforcement, medical and emergency services, fire science and investigation.  On Sunday, August 21st, the 121 Foundation will be sponsoring its first fundraising event, the Detective Kenneth Adamo Memorial Car Show at Applebee’s located at 186 Passaic Street in Garfield, NJ from 9:00am – 3:00pm. The show will feature classic and show vehicles, motorcycles and emergency services vehicles of all sizes. Three live bands are scheduled to perform along with deejay entertainment, prizes and awards given to winning show vehicles.
