Historic King House Christmas

December 7, 2012 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM

209 Main Street, Ledgewood

Looking for something fun to do on December 7th, Friday night? Come to the Museums at Drakesville for their Saltbox Supper and Historic King house Christmas event. All three museums—The Silas Riggs House, the King Canal Store and the King House will be decorated for the holidays and will be open to the public for FREE. At the Riggs House, a Saltbox Supper will be served to visitors for a nominal fee. The Saltbox Supper will feature hearth cooking with a variety of soups, cornbread and comestibles. At the King House, local musician Claire Reynolds will play various musical instruments, and encourage visitors to engage, especially children, in her “hands on” music making and musical repertoire. She will also be displaying her collection of mechanical toys. Also at the King House, one of the Christmas trees will be decorated with ornaments representing various forms of historic transportation. Local business owner and Roxbury Rotarian, Donald Schuld will be exhibiting one of his handcrafted wooden sleighs,
patterned after a historic 19th century Russian sleigh. If you’re interested in getting into the Christmas spirit filled with music and lights Friday night, it will be held in 209 Main Street, Ledgewood, New Jersey from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. This event is sponsored by Roxbury Township Historical Society and the Roxbury Historic Trust, Inc.
