January 21, 2014 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM

Count Basie Theatre, 99 Monmouth Street, Red Bank

When you look at human history, you see that the arts have played a special role in progress as a society.  The Count Basie Theatre is proud to offer several different adult courses that will strengthen you as a person and help you indulge in your acting and dance fantasies or simply help you become a better public speaker. On Mondays, beginning on February 3rd, Melanie Taylor an award-winning director, stage manager, makeup artist, and performing arts teacher at Raritan High School will help you learn skills to engage your audience and gain confidence needed for public speaking.   Beginning on March 3rd Bradley Mott, an accomplished college professor and film, TV, and commercial professional will show you all the proper technique on how to be a voice-over actor.  On Thursdays, you get to unleash your inner dancer in a 4 week tap course, that will cover warm-ups, vocabulary, and fully-choreographed sequences that provide not only fun and entertainment, but a great workout.  If you would like to know more about these courses or anything that The Count Basie Theatre has to offer you can visit their website, http://countbasietheatre.org/education or contact education director, Yvonne Lamb-Scudiery at 732-224-8778 ext. 106.
