Bikers for Brooke Motorcycle Run

June 22, 2013 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM

Start: Our Lady of Peace Church, 111 South Street, New Providence; Finish: Mt. Carmel Hall, 56 River Road, Berkeley Heights

On June 22nd, there will be a Bikers for Brooke Motorcycle Run at Our Lady of Peace Church. Registration is on site from 10 – 11:30am. The scenic, police escorted ride begins at noon and finishes at Mt. Carmel Hall. Here there will be a family friendly BBQ, raffle, and live music from 2 – 7pm. The event costs $35 per person, and $10 for children under 11 years. Proceeds are going to Four-year old Brooke Healey, daughter of Steve and Stefani, who was diagnosed in January with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. This is an inoperable tumor located in the Pons sack (the top of the brain stem). It’s very aggressive and quickly affects a child’s motor skills, as the Pons is responsible for all vital functions. Brooke made it through an extremely risky biopsy and radiation therapy, and is being treated with steroids that come with a host of side effects. The money raised will be used for bills not covered by insurance and a multitude of unexpected and mounting expenses associated with Brooke’s treatment.
