Acorn Hall’s Annual Garden Party

Acorn Hall, 68 Morris Avenue in MorristownAcorn Hall’s annual Garden Party, scheduled for Sunday, August 28, will celebrate a different kind of garden this year: in connection with its current exhibit “Over Here and Over There: Morris County’s Role in World War II,” the Morris County Historical Society has planted its own Victory Garden on the grounds of Acorn Hall. The Garden Party will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Acorn Hall is at 68 Morris Avenue, Morristown. Visitors are invited to bring a picnic lunch; beverages and desserts will be served. There will be a variety of World War II-era foods to sample as well as produce from the Victory Garden. There will be a brief ceremony at 1:30 to honor the Society’s volunteer corps. Throughout the afternoon, guests can tour Acorn Hall and the exhibit and explore the beautiful gardens maintained by the Home Garden Club of Morristown. The Garden Party is free for MCHS members, children under 12, veterans, and military families as part of the Blue Star Museum initiative.
