Listen To Rich DeSisto’s Interview with Bill Medley

Mr. Medley produced a number of the duo's songs, including "Unchained Melody" and "(You're My) Soul and Inspiration".  All of these are iconic in musical history and still played on Radio stations across the world. He is also known for his solo song with Jennifer Warnes, "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" (1987) that of course was used in the movie Dirty Dancing. Mr. Melody has cited his influences are Little Richard, who he first heard when he was fifteen or sixteen years old, and later Ray Charles, Bobby "Blue" Bland, and B.B. King.
