New Jersey: Shooting For Hollywood Film Taking Place
A Hollywood film crew was spotted shooting scenes in New Jersey this week, per Tap Into Union. The scenes are being filmed at an unoccupied bank on Morris Avenue in Union, N.J. several days this week.
According to a member of the crew, the film is supposed to be based in New York, but the shooting will primarily be in the Garden State. He said that the filming at the bank would only last one more day and that they had about 24 more days of shooting for the film.
The bank is located at the corner of Morris Avenue and Colonial Avenue. It has been closed for several years. However, for the film, it has reportedly been made to look like a post office instead of a bank. There was post office signage at the door and a postal truck parked in the rear of the site, the site reports.
The production crew did not reveal any additional information about the film, including the name.
This Union, N.J. spotting follows another movie that has been filmed in the Garden State, Joker 2 (Folie á Deux).

Last month, a shuttered Essex County Isolation Hospital was reportedly the home for Arkham State Asylum. That’s where the Joker (Joaquin Phoenix) meets Harley Quinn (Lady Gaga). “A good portion of the community is very excited for such a major motion picture being filmed right here in Belleville,” Township Manager Anthony Iacono said at the time, per North Jersey.com.
At the time of the filming, Mayor Michael Melham warned that certain roads would be closed during filming and that trespassing on the property is forbidden via a Facebook post.
“Various Township Officials and I just finished a site visit and security meeting at the filming location. We also had the opportunity to speak with local residents.
As filming commences, the BPD will be enacting additional security measures,” Melham wrote. “During live scenes, all roads within a site line will be closed. At all other times, only residents showing IDs will be able to access certain streets.”
He continued: “Please know filming is on private property. Please do not trespass or attempt to gain access to the property. Please do not leave your vehicle unattended, it will be promptly ticketed and towed. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.”
Joker: Folie à Deux is a musical sequel to 2019’s Joker. Phoenix won Best Actor at the 91st Academy Awards for his performance. The sequel is set to be released in 2024.
