N.J. Makes Top 5 Of Luckiest States In The U.S.
St. Patrick’s Day is approaching and New Jersey residents are in luck. The Garden State has been ranked one of the luckiest states in the U.S. Analysts at USBettingreport.com studied the Powerball and Mega Million winners in each state to determine which one had the most “Irish luck.”
According to the historical data from 1992 for Powerball winners and 2002 for Mega Million winners, New York is America’s luckiest state. New Yorkers have won the Mega Million 40 times in the last 21 years. New York has also won Powerball 12 times.
California comes in second, having 35 winners for the Mega Millions and 12 for the Powerball.
New Jersey is America’s third luckiest state with 11 Powerball winners and 22 Mega Millions winners.
According to Daily Voice, one of the recent New Jersey winners took home $50,000 after they matched four of the five white balls and the Power Ball drawn for Saturday, Feb. 25. The ticket was sold in Pennington located in Mercer County at the Stop & Shop located on 800 F Denow Rd.
The winning numbers for the Saturday, Feb. 25, drawing were: 11, 24, 58, 66 and 67. The Red Power Ball number was 26. The Power Play was 3X.
However, earlier in February, a New Jersey resident struck gold after winning $7.3 million in the Pick-6. The ticket was sold at Soda King, on 300 Gordons Corner Rd., in Manalapan, New Jersey.
“We are already a lucky location, we sold a $1,000,000 Powerball ticket before,” says Dilip Shah, the owner of Soda King per FOX 5 NY.
Soda King also got a large payday with a 10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Following New Jerey is Ohio which comes in fourth with three Powerball winners and 22 Mega Millions winners.
Rounding out the top five is Michigan with five Powerball winners and 17 Megan Millions winners.
