N.J. Weather: Some Parts Will See 3 Inches Of Snow Monday Night
After a rainy weekend, New Jerseyans can expect some snow heading into Monday night (March 6) in some parts of the state. Overnight, northern and central parts of the state will have up to three inches of snow. Hunterdon, Somerset, Middlesex, Morris, and southern Sussex counties are looking at one to two inches of snow while Warren County is facing up to three inches per the National Weather Service.
For South Jersey, it looks as though the rain will remain with a possibility of snow if the temperature drops.
“For tonight, we have a rather challenging snowfall forecast across the region on our hands as a quick hitting system spreads precipitation into the region,” the weather service’s Mount Holly office said in its Monday morning forecast discussion per NJ Advance Media. “Confidence continues to increase that we’ll see accumulating snow from the southern Poconos into the Lehigh Valley and portions of northern and central New Jersey.”
However, for midday on Monday, the weather is looking to remain mild.
“Another nice weather day is expected today with temperatures rising into the low to mid-50s this afternoon,” the weather service said. “It’ll also be much less breezy than Sunday was.”
As for the rest of the work week, temperatures will remain in the late 40s to mid-50s throughout the week with varying partially sunny and/or cloudy conditions throughout the state with no precipitation.
