As with 1970’s McCartney and 1980’s McCartney II, McCartney III will feature Sir Paul providing all vocals and instrumentation on the album, which he also produced.
In a statement on the album, Macca said, “I was living lockdown life on my farm with my family and I would go to my studio every day. I had to do a little bit of work on some film music and that turned into the opening track and then when it was done I thought what will I do next? I had some stuff I’d worked on over the years but sometimes time would run out and it would be left half-finished so I started thinking about what I had. Each day I’d start recording with the instrument I wrote the song on and then gradually layer it all up, it was a lot of fun. It was about making music for yourself rather than making music that has to do a job. So, I just did stuff I fancied doing. I had no idea this would end up as an album.”

ORIGINAL STORY
Paul McCartney has been dropping not-so-subtle hints that a new album titled McCartney III could be on the way.
McCartney has been sharing a number of photos on social media accompanied by three dice emojis. The photos often include three of a particular item, too.

The final clue (or perhaps the confirmation of McCartney III being an upcoming album) is a listing on Third Man Records of a limited edition pressing of McCartney III that was made from recycled vinyl copies of McCartney and McCartney II. Only 333 copies were made for sale, and they sold out immediately. The listing states, “This special ‘regrind’ pressing, the first version of McCartney’s third self-titled solo album available for purchase, is hand-numbered and features an exclusive screen-printed jacket.”
