Rolling Stones: New Live Release Features Clapton, Axl Rose & More

The Rolling Stones have dipped into their expansive vaults again for a new live release that features the likes of Eric Clapton, John Lee Hooker, Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin.

Steel Wheels Live highlights the band’s December 20, 1989 concert at the Atlantic City Convention Center on their first tour after a nearly eight-year hiatus from the road. The tour would also be the last to feature bassist Bill Wyman.

This night provided some of the most memorable moments from the tour thanks in part to its special guest appearances with Guns N’ Roses members Rose and Stradlin joining the Stones on “Salt of the Earth.” Clapton would then join the band to perform “Little Red Rooster,” which would then bring out Hooker to perform “Boogie Chillen.”

Steel Wheels Live is due out September 25 and is currently available for pre-order in a variety of audio and video formats at TheRollingStonesShop.com. A trailer for the release and its tracklisting can be viewed below.

In the announcement of Killer Queen, Brian May said, "Freddie loved vodka and used to carry a dry ice cooler full of vodka with him on tour." As for the Cristal, that was Mercury's favorite champagne and would stock his fridge with dozens of bottles of it for parties.

Even though the Red Rocker has launched a number of different spirit labels, Cabo Wabo Tequila was his first, and it made him a very rich man. Hagar has since sold all of his stake in the brand, but when he first sold 80 percent of Cabo Wabo to Gruppo Campari in 2007, he earned $80 million.
• Zakk Wylde/Black Label Society – Johnnie Walker Black Label

  An obvious association, especially regarding Black Label Society's debut album 'Sonic Brew,' which featured the design of Johnnie Walker's Black Label Whisky label and bottle. Wylde, however, didn't get permission to use the Johnnie Walker imagery and was served with a cease and desist.
