Governor Murphy Expands Limits On Indoor And Outdoor Gatherings
Governor Murphy announced today (June 9) that he will sign an executive order to expand the limits on both indoor and outdoor gatherings.
The COVID-19 update for the state came shortly after Murphy revealed he will be lifting New Jersey’s stay-at-home order this afternoon.

- Stay-at-Home Directive Ends
- Outdoor Gathering Limit Increases – (25 people to 100 people)
- Indoor Gathering Limit Increases – (25 percent of a building’s capacity or 50 people in total)
- Most Outdoor Recreation Business to Reopen
- Larger First Amendment Gatherings Allowed
- June 15 –Outdoor Restaurant Dining
- June 15 — In-Store Retail Shopping
- June 15 — Childcare Centers
- June 22 — Non-contact organized sports activities

“I anticipate being able to raise the limit on non-protest & non-religious activities to: 250 people on June 22nd and 500 people on July 3rd,” Murphy shared to I anticipate being able to raise the limit on OUTDOOR non-protest and non-religious gatherings – unless we see a significant uptick in new #COVID19 cases – to:
