State officials are set to open a major drive-thru coronavirus testing site at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel. As of Monday (March 16), Governor Murphy announced that New Jersey has been identified as a “priority state” during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The testing site and set up will be supported by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Although we still do not know as of when the site will be operational, Murphy revealed in a press conference that it is designed to test thousands of people per day.
In order to be seen at the testing site, all patients must be seen by a doctor or public health official and be pre-qualified. PNC Bank Arts Center will be one of two testing sites with the other location being Bergen County Community College in Paramus.
As of today (March 17), the New Jersey COVID-19 Dashboard states that there has been a recorded 267 positive cases of coronavirus in the Garden State.
In order to help contain the spread, all gatherings of 50 or more people have been banned throughout the state.
