February 12th is not only Lincoln’s birthday…it’s the birth anniversary of Gene McDaniels. In the early 60’s, Gene had huge hits like A Hundred Pounds Of Clay, Chip Chip, Tower Of Strength and many others. McDaniels then went on to be a very successful songwriter, with tunes like Feel Like Makin’ Love by Roberta Flack, which reached #1 in 1974. On Wayback Wednesday, we bring you Gene singing his signature song acoustically, in 2010, before a small group of young girls at a school. Touchingly, it was recorded in 2010, just one year before Gene McDaniels passed away at the age of 76 in 2011.
