Wayback Wednesday: “Peanuts”
On October 2nd, 1950, “Peanuts”, the comic strip created by Charles M. Schulz, was published for the first time, in just 7 newspapers. Over the years, it became one of America’s best loved comics, going on to great success in its TV Holiday specials. The title, “Peanuts”, was picked by the syndication editor. Schulz himself hated the name of the strip, which began as “Lil Folks”. But Peanuts ran until February 13, 2000, the day after Schultz died. And it continues to be popular in reruns to this day.
On Wayback Wednesday, we look at Charlie Brown, again trying to kick that football with Lucy holding it.
