One of the original Rolling Stones, Bill Wyman turns 82 on October 24th! Born William George Perks, Jr., he began performing as Wyman in the early ‘60’s, and legally changed his surname in 1964.
Wyman was the Stones bassist from 1962 until 1993. He then formed his own band, Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings in 1997, and has recorded and toured with them.
Here’s a little of his post-Stones work, along with Peter Frampton and Albert Lee, performing the Creedence Clearwater Revival song “Green River”. Enjoy!
