Happy Birthday to one of Rock N’ Roll’s greatest! Dion is 79 today. Born in the Bronx on July 18, 1939, Dion DiMucci was still in his teens when he hit it big with the Belmonts.
Later as a solo artist, he gave us “The Wanderer”, “Runaround Sue”, and “Donna The Prima Donna” among many others. In 1968, he had another huge hit with the touching “Abraham, Martin, and John”. And Dion is still performing today (WMTR recently gave away tickets to his shows in New Jersey!) On Wayback Wednesday, we take you back to a live performance at the Tropicana in Atlantic City from 2004…enjoy this rockin’ version of “I Wonder Why”!
