On May 16, 1966 Capitol Records released what’s now regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time…Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys! Believe it or not, this masterpiece, produced, arranged, and almost entirely composed by Brian Wilson, only reached Number 10 on the Billboard 200 LP’s chart, a significantly lower peak than any of the group’s 10 other previous albums.
But what songs…Sloop John B, God Only Knows, Caroline No…and of course, our Wayback Wednesday clip for this week: Wouldn’t It Be Nice. It’s partially an early music video (only on black and white film), and partially shots of the Beach Boys performing this song live…Enjoy!
